IT'S YOUR DRIVEWAY GATE AN ASSET OR A LIABILITY?

Just before 7:40pm on Monday  June 28, 2010 A six-year-old girl was crushed to death as she played hide and seek with her best friend close to her home in a gated community .
Semelia Campbell is thought to have tried to slip through a sliding barrier after it had opened for a car going out on to the road.
As she darted through the gap, the 1,600lb wrought-iron gate slid across and crushed her up against a brick wall. By the time her mother and police forced the gate open, her daughter was dead.
A similar case less than one week later, Karolina Maria Golabek  A five-year-old girl,  died after being crushed by an automatic sliding gate in South Wales.
The little girl was playing at the entrance to a small car park at Brook Court, Bridgend, on Saturday afternoon when the gate closed on her.
Karolina was rushed to the hospital where she later died. She is the second child to be killed by an automated gate in 6 days.

Now my question to you is, could this have been prevented?
Absolutely, with the following safety devices- Safety loops, safety photo eye, safety rubber sensor.

Safety Loops- is a system typically installed underground creating a magnetic field to detect a vehicle in place, once the safety loops detect the vehicle, the gate automatically reverses to prevent closing on the vehicle.
Safety Photo Eye- is a small device that carries a laser beam  clear across gate opening, if the laser bean is broken by someone walking by, a pet running through, or a vehicle driving through it. The gate will automatically reverse to prevent any accidents.
Safety Rubber Sensors- this rubber device is typically installed in the front and/or rear of gate.  When minimal pressure is applied, gate will automatically reverse in position.
Here at U.S GATE SUPPLY our  customers safety is first priority. With additional safety devices, not only we can prevent tragedies like this one, but is an asset to your property.
